Ottawa Energy Advisor, as a registered energy advisor ( REA ), has been providing home energy audits since 2008 and has completed well over 5000 homes in Ottawa and Eastern Ontario.
We can provide you with a Home Energy Audit, as required for the Ontario Home Renovation savings program, or for the Greener Homes Loan
Ontario Home Renovation Savings Program
The Home Renovation Savings™ Program, launched by Enbridge Gas on January 28th, 2025 in collaboration with the Ontario government, is designed to encourage residents to make energy-efficient improvements to their homes.
Is Your Home Eligible
- To qualify for the Home Renovation Savings program, you must own your home.
- Eligible housing types include single detached or semi-detached homes, row/townhomes and mobile homes on a permanent foundation.
- Be an Enbridge Gas customer with an active account and primarily heat your home with a natural gas furnace or boiler OR be connected to the Ontario electricity grid and heat your home electrically.‡
Additional terms and conditions apply to specific rebates.
‡Cornwall Electric customers are connected to the Hydro-Québec electricity grid and therefore are not eligible to participate.
Getting Started - STEPS
- Schedule an Energy Audit from a REA – Before beginning any work, complete an initial home energy assessment with a registered energy advisor from an approved Service Organization. Contact Us
- Get a your EnerGuide report – See which upgrades are recommended for your home and choose at least two to complete.
- Complete 2+ upgrades –
Have your preferred contractor complete the work.
- Schedule a follow-up POST Audit –
After upgrades are installed, complete a final assessment with the same registered energy advisor.
- Receive your rebates – Your rebates will be sent after your energy advisor submits all required documents.
IMPORTANT
Although you do not need an energy audit if you are only installing a heat pump or solar system, you do need one for the Greener Homes Loan.
Greener Homes Loan
This is a 0% interest free loan up to $40,000 that can be used for qualifying Ontario Home Renovation Savings Program improvements.
This is a unique opportunity to do your qualifying energy efficient renovations and upgrades at 0%.
You must apply and be approved BEFORE any work is started.
